Deacon Robert (Bob) Mahoney was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to Robert L. Mahoney, Sr., and Anne Mahoney, and is the oldest of five siblings. He graduated from Notre Dame High School, received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame, and received a master’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis.

MC and Bob were blessed with four children during their 36 years of marriage before her death in 2018. All of Deacon Bob’s children and his one grandchild reside in the Nashville area.
Deacon Bob was ordained in 1999 and assigned to Church of the Most Holy Name. Throughout his 25 years of dedicated service, he has been a pillar of our parish community. His commitment to his faith, our parishioners, and his service to the broader Nashville metropolitan area are well known and unmistakable.
