Liturgical Committee
The Liturgical Committee, under the guidance of the pastor, assists in the oversight of the liturgical life of the parish, especially in the Advent, Christmas, Lent, Holy Week, and Easter seasons. The Liturgy Committee also reviews the liturgical procedures in accordance with the General Instructions of the Roman Missal (GIRM) and pastoral considerations. Membership consists of parish clergy, and the coordinators of the Ministers of the Altar and Environment & Art in Catholic Worship.Altar Servers
Church of the Most Holy Name Altar Servers serve through assistance in the celebration of the Liturgy. Altar Servers can be individuals who have received the Roman Catholic Sacraments of Baptism, Communion, and Confirmation and may also be called to serve at various Parish events. Prospective Altar Servers are interviewed and thoroughly trained in the various Altar Server positions.
Lectors
Our Lectors, diverse as the community of faithful we serve, proclaim the Word of The Lord at our weekly Masses with reverence and solemnity. This vital ministry, through which the Word of The Lord is heard by the faithful from people just like them, inspires and personalizes the messages of hope, dignity, and the path to the everlasting love of Christ.
Eucharistic Ministers
Eucharistic Ministers assist the priest and deacon in distributing the Body and Blood of Christ to those gathered for worship. As a Eucharistic Minister, you play an essential role in helping Church of the Most Holy Name open wide doors to Christ for those who come forth to receive the Lord in the Eucharist.
To become a Eucharistic Minister, you need to be a registered parishioner and a practicing Catholic in good standing, having received the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation), be at least 14 years or older, have a deep love for the Eucharist, a desire to help others encounter Christ through you in this ministry, and adequately discern that you are being called to serve in this particular liturgical ministry.Music Ministry
Music has the power to channel and express our emotions and beliefs. As members of the choir, we are called to, “Enter his gates with thanksgiving, his courts with praise.” Join us in giving Praise to God and in leading the assembly in worship and in prayer each Sunday at the 8:00 a.m. mass and the 10:30 a.m. mass. Choir rehearsal occurs 30 minutes before each mass and on the three Saturdays prior to Easter and Christmas. The Sacristan is responsible for the Sacristy, the Church, and its ceremonial content such as care of the vestments, baptismal font, the holy oils, the sacred relics, the decoration of the church for the different seasons and feasts, and the preparation of what is necessary for the various ceremonies.
Ushers
Ushers serve as "doorkeepers" and welcome and assist parishioners, guests, and visitors as they enter and exit the church. Ushers assist with seating, answering basic questions, providing directions, and assist with collections during mass.
Parish Pastoral Council
The Pastoral Council (PPC) of Church of the Most Holy Name assists the pastor in his leadership role of planning, organizing, initiating, promoting, coordinating and reviewing the evangelization, worship, religious education, and service activities within the parish. Members are elected by the Parish at large for a two-year term. Officers are elected by the PPC for a two-year term. ALL parishioners are welcome and encouraged to attend PPC meetings. Building CommitteeFinance Committee
The Finance Committee, appointed by the parish Pastor, provides council to the Pastor and the Parish on church finances. The Finance Committee reviews and approves the Parish annual budget, quarterly financial statements, and major expenditure requests. Chairperson: Dr. Joe Gigante
Religious Education
Church of the Most Holy Name’s Religious Education program offers religious education programming including the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) and Order of Christian Initiation of Children (OCIC), and activities, and events.
Hospitality Committee
The Hospitality Committee seeks to evangelize and spread the love of our Lord Jesus Christ through service and celebration. The Hospitality Committee provides activities that foster a warm and welcoming environment in the parish community by caring, giving, and engaging parishioners and guests in activities of fellowship and community. St. Antoine Parish-Haiti
Grow in your faith and love for Jesus Christ by living the gospel through support and service to the members of Saint Antoine Parish in Haiti. This ministry provides support to our sister parish, Saint Antoine, by providing assistance in the areas of health, education, and economic welfare. Conferences and workshops are provided through the PTPA Twinning program for the Diocese of Nashville. Chairperson: Gwen Blount
Every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday, the Loaves and Fishes program offers breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to anyone in need, without restrictions based on religion, race, or proof of need. Church of the Most Holy Name volunteers serve at Loaves & Fishes on the fourth Wednesday of each month, 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The program operates in the Fr. Charles Strobel Parish Center of Church of the Most Holy Name at 508 Main Street (map).
Each week, approximately 600 meals are served in a welcoming environment. At Loaves and Fishes, those who come to eat are treated as our guests. Additionally, guests of the program are provided with referrals to appropriate services for housing, extra food, and clothing within the community.
