It is anticipated that parents seeking to have their child baptized within Church of the Most Holy Name will make arrangements at their local Catholic parish.
If circumstances suggest that the baptism of the child should take place at Church of the Most Holy Name (e.g. the parents were married at Church of the Most Holy Name), please contact [email protected].
When making a petition to have a child baptized at Church of the Most Holy Name, parents will need to provide a recommendation from the family’s local parish within the Diocese of Nashville, in favor of the baptism taking place at the church. (A template for the recommendation is provided by the church)
Parents also need to provide a copy of their Catholic Church marriage certificate (i.e. the certificate of marriage issued by a Catholic parish).
The family must live within the Diocese of Nashville.
Godparent(s):
- Must be a Catholic who has received the sacrament of Confirmation
- There may be one Godparent, or two. (If there are two, there must be one male and one female).
- Be at least 16 years old.
